Department of Information and Computer Science
The focus of the department's research and teaching activity is on bringing advanced mathematical, statistical and computational methods to bear on the automation of challenging tasks in technology and science. One aspect of this mission is adaptive informatics, whereby automated learning algorithms are used to discover the relevant informative concepts, components, and their mutual relations from large amounts of data. Another is theoretical computer science, regarded as the development and application of mathematical methods for the systematic modelling, analysis, and solution of computational tasks.
